The 2026 Virtual World Racing Series is the thirteenth season of the Virtual World Racing Series - the twelfth under the VWRS moniker. The series is a virtual motor racing championship which acts as the second tier in the FVA Series Pyramid, sitting directly below Formula Virtual.

Stew Alexander was the Drivers' Champion from the 2025 season, while Formation Competition were defending champions after winning the Teams' Championship in 2025.

Team changes

K8ley Racing, Gray Autosport, and Beaulieu Racing left the series at the end of 2025 in order to prepare for the 2026 Formula Virtual World Championship - which was eventually cancelled. They were replaced by Kowhai Racing - who re-entered the series after dropping down from Formula Virtual - as well as Signature Performance and AutoInternational.

Driver changes

Leaving the series

A total of 10 drivers left the series at the end of 2025 after competing for their mandatory maximum of three years. These drivers were; Stew Alexander, Timo Ziegler, Barney Hoskins, Björk Jensen, Charyl Ratanarak, Roman Bishop, Björn Tómasson, Abigail Cartwright, Magnus Axelsson, and Willian Mero. Of these, Hoskins, Ratanarak, Tómasson, Cartwright, and Axelsson joined the re-launched eV2 Series.
Nino Luthi, Yosef David, Timo Fischer, and Ryo Matsuoka left the series at the end of 2025 to join the newly launched VSF for 2026.
Kadir Yilmaz Sari and Soe Hwa Nio both left the series after failing to find seats for 2026.

Changing teams

Alex Palmero moved from Formation Competition to Lapierre Formule, he was joined by Hugo Bouchard after K8ley Racing left the series.
Kiyoko Yoshioka joined Road Runners Racing, having previously raced for K8ley Racing. He was joined by Dani de la Fuente after Gray Autosport left the series.
Theo Marengo joined OSM Racing International, having previously raced for Gray Autosport.
Jose Castillo moved from Estrella Carreras to AutoInternational.
Oscar Orellano joined Signature Performance, having previously raced for Beaulieu Racing.

Joining the series

Kristen Axelson, Dario Mutti, Nicole Ekman, Daphne Martens, and Jukka-Pekka Raatikainen joined the series after previously racing in the electric racing ladder in 2023.
A total of 11 rookies joined the series for 2026. Four from the Virtual European Racing Series; 2025 champion Klaus Baumgartner, runner-up Daniël Dirkx, third placed Louisa Austen, and tenth placed Thea Maast. Four from the Virtual Oceania-Asia Racing Series; 2025 champion Pietro Vitali, third placed Jack Kempi, fourth placed Vanoush Kostoyan, and ninth placed Mehmet Sahin. Finally, three joined from the Virtual American Racing Series; 2025 champion Charlie Young, runner-up Yohan Picquart, and eighth placed Roberto Santos.

Championship standings

Drivers' standings

Points were awarded to the top 12 classified finishers in races 1 and 2, and to the top 10 classified finishers in race 3. The pole-sitters in races 1 and 2 also received three points each, with one point given to the driver who set the fastest lap in each race. No extra points are awarded to the pole-sitter in race three as the grid for it is based on the results of race two with the top half of the field being reversed.
