Signature Performance is a Canadian racing team currently competing in the FV2 Series as well as the FV3 Series. The team has also competed in the IndyVirtual Series and FV2 Winter Series.

History

Formed by Quebecois businessman Sylvain Tremblay, Signature Performance was originally based in Montreal, Canada, with the majority of operations for junior single seater championships based in Paul Ricard, France.

The team is part owned by Mathershaw Technology (25%), who also run their VUSC operations as well as the former IndyVirtual team.

Sponsorship

Much like many junior single seater teams, Signature tend to run their cars in liveries dictated by driver’s personal sponsors or Junior Team liveries. However, the team famously runs with rear wing endplates showing halved Canadian and Quebecois flags highlighting their origin.

After competing in various junior single seater championships, 2017 marked the debut of Signature into top-level open wheel racing with their entry into IndyVirtual in a joint venture with Mathershaw Technology to run four cars. Throughout the partnership, drivers affiliated with different Mathershaw Technology motorsport programs raced for the team, including then-Formula Virtual champion Adrien Simon in 2017.

Still racing under the Canadian flag, the IndyVirtual operation was run from Mathershaw Technology’s Daytona Beach, FL base, with Signature team principal Sylvain Tremblay joined by Arthur Lapierre to run trackside operations. Throughout their time in the series, Signature ran with Chevrolet engines as one of the brand’s flagship teams.

The team entry concluded at the end of 2018 when the IndyVirtual series folded, with a number of the staff reallocated to the VWRS programme.

2017 season

For 2017, the team fielded the following cars:
- No. 7 MGM Grand Dallara/Chevrolet for Rossendo Werner (All Rounds)

Over the season, the team won a single race, with Keith Murphy taking the checkered flag at the Mobil 1 Race of Sebring, as well as Simon taking third place at the Triple Crown event, the Toyota Japan 500.
