Racing history - Formula Virtual

SRT's successful application to join the Formula Virtual grid was officially announced by the FVA in August 2022. Seifert established his team base in the city of Koblenz, Germany, located just 60km away from the Nürburgring, which is considered to be SRT's 'home' race track. Louis Stroka was hired as the team's Technical Director to begin work on the team's first ever car.

2023 season

SRT started the 2023 season with a double DNQ in Australia. At Malaysia, Danilo Forini managed to qualify the RS-01-P for the first time, but unfortunately retired after a few laps with critical damage due to a collision.

"The RS-01-P is a difficult car to drive and it is hard to get the most out of it. We can only try every raceweek again and again." , said Jean Mattson. In the 16 races in 2023, SRT managed to race in 6 of them including two early retirements in Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates. SRT's second car, raced by Jean Mattson, failed to qualify in 12 races in a row which led to Jean Mattson retiring early after the Canadian V-Prix. He was replaced by reserve driver Karl Beckenbauer who couldn't do better in the last four races. SRT's first season was a big disappointment for the high hopes after pre-season testing.

"We had our highs this season, but we have a lot of work to do over the winter. Full focus on 2024." , said team principal Roy Seifert after the Brazilian V-Prix in early December.

Later that year, it was announced that 2023 VWRS champion Henri Ruotsalainen will join the team from 2024 onwards. He partners Danilo Forini who will start his second year for SRT.

In that time period, SRT had many problems with sponsors leaving the team after a season with little success on track. A few days later, the team announced that Bitburger will stay as the teams title sponsor for 2024.
